Beautiful Hairstyles for Black Women with Short, Medium Length or Long Hair

The unique texture of a black woman’s hair is sometimes considered restrictive but I think that’s wrong. Black women can do anything with their hair women of any other ethnicity can do and a lot of things women of any other ethnicity cannot do. With that said, it’s important to make sure any stylist you work with has experience working with a black woman’s hair. While the unique texture is definitely beautiful and versatile, it can be hard to work with for someone who doesn’t have experience working with it. Choose the right stylist, or be your own stylist, and you have endless possibilities. Now, a few things about this post before we dive in. First, the tools I’m listing for each style refer to hair tools. For example, moisturizer refers to hair moisturizer. I’ve also included the types of brushes you’ll be using for some of the styles because some of the styles require a specific type of brush. Finally, braided hairstyles for black women have been left off the list, not because they aren’t beautiful but because they’re getting their own article in the near future. Okay – all that out of the way, let’s look at some beautiful hairstyles for black women.

Hairstyles for Black Women with Short Hair

When you’re looking for a short hairstyle, the same principles are true regardless of what ethnicity you are. The information I’ve offered for each hairstyle should give you a basic idea of whether or not it will look good on you but if you like a style, try it out. Ask your stylist for advice. You might be able to get the basic look with a few alterations to make it more suited to you.

Make sure any style you choose is something you can maintain whether it’s for an evening or for a long term style.
